During the past year...
We had our usual membership to Franklin Park, so made a number of visits during the year.
Orchids in the desert
Usual visit into Franklin Park for orchid gazing
Posing for the camera
During our visit to see the orchids, there were some butterflies released into habitat in advance of the exhibit's official launch.
Take my picture too!
Back for another round of butterflies.
We made it in toward the end of the topiary exhibit.
In April, Bob took a couple of personal days and Cheryl took vacation to coincide with Star Wars Celebration. It was a quick trip to Orlando, but we managed to make the most of it.
International Flower and Garden Show
The day before Celebration started, we spent the day at Epcot enjoying the topiaries and tasting menu in the World Showcase.

The morning queue
Having been to multiple Celebrations, the lines were no surprise. We were entertained at one point to find ourselves in line beside the same couple we were in line beside at Celebration in Anaheim.
We bough tickets to the Galactic Nights special event at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The park was only open to a limited number of guests (no or very short lines for the rides) with lots of special Star Wars themed events.

We managed to get into the Celebration Store, so came home with a bunch of souvenirs in addition to pictures from the events we were able to attend.
|Lots of Trips to the Theater
Music, Song and Dance
We had a number of season subscriptions which took us into Columbus for Broadway Across America and the Opera, New Albany for the orchestra and here in Newark for the orchestra and plays at Weathervane.
Butterflies in the Botanic Garden
In June, we took a long weekend in Cincinnati and one stop was at the Botanic Garden, mainly since we kept driving past it while looking for the art museum.
We did eventually find the art museum and spent some time seeing the displays.
We attended the Sarah Jarosz concert in Memorial Hall.
|Star Wars Power of Costume
Conveniently, the costume display had started, so we were able to include a stop on this trip to see lots of the Star Wars costumes on display.
Although Bob didn't run any games this year, he still attended Origins. He talked Cheryl into attending a day too. A fun time!
We took at long weekend in July and headed north in the state. We hiked in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, attended the U2 concert at First Energy Stadium and toured the steam ship Mather.
In September, Cheryl changed roles at work (but not bosses this time). She is back in the Sustainability department full-time as a Program Lead supporting Product Stewardship and doing Life Cycle Assessments.
This year, rather than the zoo, we opted to meet the Johnsons at The Wilds. It was a beautiful day for the open air tour.
